Changes to the Business

For the last 5 years Renaissance Fence has been serving the WMA and Historical Fencing community of Australia and New Zealand as a supplier of quality fencing equipment. Over that time we've been running both a retail side, as well as our research and teaching side.

The last 12 months has been very hard economically for a lot of people, and the retail business has suffered as a result. Changes to the parcel delivery service provided by Australia Post have also meant that I could no longer service our customers in New Zealand. After reviewing the past year I've come to the decision that the future of Renaissance Fence as a supplier of fencing equipment is unviable. The retail business is no longer self-sustaining, and I am no longer capable of maintaining the time and effort required to support that side of the business.

As such I will no longer take orders for equipment, and will be selling off the remaining stock at a reduced price. The list of my current remaining stock will be available soon. Any current backorders will be honoured, and I will be shipping those orders when they become available.

Renaissance Fence as an entity will however remain in a very different form. As some would be aware, I am one of the leading exponents of Italian Renaissance Fencing systems in Australia and New Zealand. I am still available for teaching seminars and classes, and will continue to publish (albeit slowly) the current research and teaching notes.

The site will remain, and still be available for anyone who wishes to use it as a platform for publishing their own material. I'm moving away from the retail side to a pure research and teaching business model, and will still continue to publish my own work here.

It's been an interesting experience, and thanks to all those who've supported the retail side of the business.
